Brown begins this series with the Methodist heritage as it began in England , and with the significance of women to the movement. Subsequent lectures carry through the growth and development of Methodism. Brown is the author of "Women of Mr. Wesley's Methodism" (New York: Edwin Mellon Press, 1983). Dr. Brown was professor of church history at Boston University School of Theology. This recording has some audio "bleed-through" not found on the others in the series.
