Health & Welfare Work Area
This group of men and women devotes itself to caring for those unable to get around by providing Christmas, fruit and snack baskets and gifts; sending holiday and seasonal cards and letters; visiting; telephone calling; providing an Easter remembrance gift; and praying for people both within and outside the congregation.
Dorcas Ministry Group
Meeting the fourth Tuesday of every other month, the Dorcas Ministry ladies see their mission as to minister to those suffering from hunger, cold, grief, illness or homelessness by making and distributing afghans, lap robes, baby sweater, crib blankets and prayer shawls. In addition this group highlights a United Methodist missionary for the congregation each month and participates in other caring and mission ministries. Community Work Day
Each autumn one Saturday is set aside to provide work and service for community residents.
Helping Hands Ministry - York
Through the efforts of the 1784 Sunday School Class, the congregation is organized to reach out to the homeless of York by serving bagged lunches and hot meals twice a year.
Refugee Re-Settlement
A new ministry to our congregation, we are seeking to partner with Church World Service and reach out to refugees attempting to re-settle or re-locate in our area either through direct sponsorship or by providing welcome kits, furniture, household items and/or financial contributions.
New Beginnings
New Beginnings is a group for widows and widowers. The group meets the 2nd Wednesday in the Church parking lot at 8:30 am for a monthly breakfast. The 4th Thursday of each month they meet in Heritage Hall at 5:00 pm for a dinner and entertainment. Due to the holidays in Nov and Dec, they meet on the 3rd Thursday. Prayer Support
24/7 prayer support is offered through the prayer support ministry. Requests are received from persons both inside and outside the church family and sent to a wide range of persons for immediate prayer. To submit a prayer request, click the red box to the left.
Intercessory Prayer Group
This team meets every Sunday evening at 6:00 and prays and intercedes for this faith community, its pastors and other staff/leaders, this region, state governments, this and other nations, political/spiritual/economic worldwide leaders, and "The Church."
Meals for Mother & Baby
Meals are prepared and delivered to families after the birth of a child.
Funeral Meals
Care is extended to families and guests following funeral and memorial services by providing a meal at the church.
