Sunday School
Five classes are offered each Sunday at 9:45 to help children grow in the faith and understanding of Jesus.

• Nursery
• Pre-School
• K-1
• 2nd-3rd grade
• 4th-5th grade

Children's Music Camp
A music camp for children 8-12 was held June 16-27.  The musical learned and performed was The 50th Annual Polk County Picnic, which teaches the story of the prodigal son.  42 children particiapted in this first summer music theatre camp.

Vacation Bible School
In 2010 SUMC will be participating with the Vacation Bible School at Grace UMC, Shrewsbury, June 28-July 2.

Fall Festival
Offered the Saturday before Halloween, this free event offers the children of the church and surrounding communities with an alternative to Halloween and Trick-or-Treating by providing a fun day of games, crafts, costume contests and refreshments in the context of a Christ-centered atmosphere.

Acolytes
Children 8-16 years old experience Christian service and participate in worship by lighting the candles at both Sunday morning services.

Children's Church
On the last Sunday of each month from August through May children at the 8:30 Sunday morning service will be excused from the sanctuary during the second half of the service for a special time of worship and learning.

Cherub Choir
From September through May, children from 4-7 years old sing with the Cherub Choir one Sunday a month at either of the worship services.  Rehearsals are held Thursdays from 6:30-7:15 pm.

Junior Choir
From September through May, children from 8-12 years old sing with the Junior Choir one Sunday a month at either of the worship services.  Rehearsals are held Thursdays from 6:30-7:30 pm.
